The 3M™ Littmann® Cardiology IV™ Stethoscope is a next-generation, leading stethoscope in its field, offering enhanced acoustic performance with improved hearing of high-frequency sounds (adult surface, firm pressure). Its distinctive cup-shaped listening bell features adjustable diaphragms on either side, providing exceptional acoustic performance, versatility, and ease of use in treating both adult and pediatric patients. The small listening bell can be transformed into a traditional open bell by removing the adjustable diaphragm and replacing it with a non-chilling bell rim. Both the adult and small listening bells feature a one-piece diaphragm with a smooth, non-protruding surface, making it easy to install and clean. The adjustable diaphragm technology – a 3M innovation – allows for the hearing of different frequencies simply by adjusting the pressure on the listening bell. Use light pressure on the listening bell to hear low-frequency sounds; apply slightly more pressure to hear higher-frequency sounds. This time-saving feature allows the practitioner to focus on the patient, while the non-chilling rims provide patient comfort. Earpiece tension is easily adjusted for head size and comfort by compressing or pulling the earpieces together. Patented 3M™ Littmann® Stethoscope Sealing Earpieces are securely attached, soft, sealing earpieces that provide a comfortable fit and excellent acoustic isolation. The earpieces fit snugly onto the ends of the earpiece spring and require careful effort to remove securely. Dual-lumen tubing combines two sound paths in one tubing, eliminating the rubbing noises of traditional dual tubing. This feature allows the clinician to hear patient sounds with less interference. The durable, next-generation tubing maintains its shape and flexibility even after being tightly folded and pocketed.
