The child side of the listening bell transforms into a traditional open bell by removing the adjustable diaphragm and replacing it with a non-chilling bell rim. Both the adult and child sides of the listening bell feature a one-piece diaphragm that is easy to attach and clean due to its smooth, protruding surface. Adjustable diaphragm technology – a 3M innovation – allows for the hearing of different frequency sounds by simply adjusting the pressure on the listening bell. Use the listening bell with light pressure to listen to low-frequency sounds; press slightly harder to hear higher-frequency sounds. This time-saving feature allows the practitioner to focus on the patient, while the non-chilling rims provide comfort to the patient. Earpiece tension is easily adjusted for head size and comfort by compressing or pulling together with the earpiece caps. Patented 3M™ Littmann® Stethoscope Sealing Earpiece Caps are securely attached, soft, sealing earpieces that provide a comfortable fit and excellent acoustic isolation. The earpiece caps fit snugly onto the ends of the earpiece spring and require careful effort to remove safely.
