It is used by medical professionals and students to identify, listen to, and examine heart, lung, and other body sounds for physical assessment and diagnosis in pediatric patients. Earpiece tension is easily adjusted to fit head size and comfort by compressing or pulling with the earpiece caps. The patented 3M™ Littmann® Stethoscope Sealing Earpiece Caps are securely attached, soft, sealing earpieces that provide a comfortable fit and excellent acoustic isolation. The earpiece caps fit snugly onto the ends of the earpiece spring and require careful effort to remove securely. The durable, next-generation tubing retains its shape and flexibility even when tightly folded and pocketed. Improved resistance to skin oils and alcohols ensures a longer stethoscope lifespan and reduces the likelihood of staining. The new generation of tubing is made without natural rubber latex and phthalate plasticizers, to benefit discerning clinicians and their patients, and to play a role in protecting human health and the environment.
