The 3M™ Littmann® Classic III™ Stethoscope is the latest in a series of stethoscopes that have helped millions of medical professionals perform at their best. The Classic III stethoscope features a versatile, double-sided listening bell with high acoustic sensitivity and adjustable diaphragms for superior performance. The Classic III stethoscope is used by students and medical professionals to identify, listen to, and examine heart, lung, and other body sounds for physical assessment, patient monitoring, and diagnosis. Adjustable diaphragm technology – a 3M innovation – allows for the hearing of different frequency sounds simply by adjusting the pressure on the listening bell. Use light pressure on the listening bell to listen to low-frequency sounds; press slightly harder to hear higher-frequency sounds. This time-saving feature allows the practitioner to focus on the patient, while the non-chilling edges provide comfort to the patient. Earpiece tension is easily adjusted to fit head size and comfort by simply tightening or pulling the earpieces. Patented 3M™ Littmann® Stethoscope Sealing Earpieces are securely attached, soft, sealing earpieces that provide a comfortable fit and excellent acoustic isolation. The earpieces fit snugly onto the ends of the earpiece springs and require careful removal to securely detach. The durable, next-generation tubing maintains its shape and flexibility even when tightly folded and pocketed. Improved resistance to skin oils and alcohols ensures a longer stethoscope lifespan and reduces the likelihood of staining. To benefit discerning clinicians and patients, and to contribute to human health and environmental protection, the next-generation tubing is made without natural rubber latex and phthalate plasticizers.
