The satin finish also offers a more flexible feel, making it easier to fold and store your stethoscope, allowing you to carry it with you between patients. Furthermore, its specially formulated coating is easy to clean, resistant to dirt and scratches, helping to preserve the appearance and lifespan of your stethoscope. Compared to uncoated tubing, satin-finished tubing is softer and feels silkier, is stain-resistant, easier to clean, and has a flexibility that makes it easy to wear under a lab coat. A 3M innovation, adjustable diaphragm technology allows clinicians to hear sounds at different frequencies simply by adjusting the pressure on the listener's bell. Hold the listener with light pressure to hear low-frequency sounds; press slightly harder to hear higher-frequency sounds. This time-saving feature allows the healthcare professional to focus on the patient, while the non-chilling diaphragm ensures patient comfort. The earpiece tension can be easily adjusted to head size and comfort by tightening or separating the ear tubes. The snap-on, soft-insulated earcups adapt to individual ears for excellent acoustic isolation and a comfortable fit.
